Last Energy seeks a Government Business Development professional to lead business development opportunities with the US Department of Defense (DoD), US Department of Energy (DOE), the North American Treaty Organization (NATO), and other similar US and international government organizations. Such opportunities will include requests for proposals (RFP), contracts, grants, Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) funding, and others identified that could benefit Last Energy’s business and government relations goals.

The ideal candidate will have worked for the US Government, preferably the DoD or DOE, as a contracting officer, procurement executive, grant specialist, or similar role.  A successful candidate will be analytical, independent, resourceful, and detail-oriented. They will also be proactive in seeking out opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

    • Research and identify opportunities to submit responses and applications for requests for proposals (RFP), grants, Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) funding, and other similar applications
    • Manage all aspects of writing and submitting the application process for these opportunities, to include meeting and building relationships with key stakeholders within the departments and agencies offering the opportunity
    • Manage all aspects of the contract and procurement process for potential projects with the DoD and/or DOE, to include meeting and building relationships with key stakeholders
    • Work with other members of the Government Relations Team to build and sustain strategic partnerships with US and international government institutions to identify government needs and objectives that align with Last Energy’s business goals

Qualifications

    • 5+ years of experience, preferably with the DoD and/or DOE
    • Strong writing, communication, and project management skills
    • Thorough knowledge of US Government contracting and grant funding processes
