Last Energy (LE) is looking for a Development Director to oversee the development of power energy projects worldwide. The Development Director will manage various activities, from early-stage development to construction, such as siting, land management, interconnection and transmission, environmental permitting, and land use permits. This role requires experience and skills in leading multi-million-dollar infrastructure projects, preferably in the renewable energy sector.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

    • Oversee and manage the site permitting efforts and approval processes for both utility-scale and distributed-scale electric generation projects
    • Manage the site permitting efforts and approval processes for utility-scale electric generation projects
    • Advance the acquisition of greenfield and brownfield sites, which includes negotiating landowner leases, optioning, and/or purchasing
    • Represent LE at permitting meetings/public hearings and work with regulators, utilities, and other stakeholders throughout the project development process
    • Manage the preparation and delivery of permitting documentation
    • Interpret technical engineering and environmental reports and studies to determine project impact and relevance toward application requirements
    • Provide management with reports on project status and changes to regulations
    • Procure and manage the necessary consultants and vendors to advance initiatives

Qualifications

    • Have demonstrable experience in delivering infrastructure and/or development projects
    • Possess a robust understanding of contracting and valuation principles
    • Be able to effectively communicate and work within multi-disciplinary project teams, establish sound relationships, and work efficiently and courteously with stakeholders
    • Have at least a working knowledge of renewable energy value drivers and development structures
