Last Energy UK seeks a Technical Project Management Director to provide technical expertise and leadership in our power plant construction and demonstration projects in the UK. They will be responsible for supporting project execution, managing resources, and navigating contract negotiations to ensure the timely and successful completion of our energy projects.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

    • Support the strategic planning and execution of UK-based engineering efforts, including aspects such as procurement, module integration and fabrication, feasibility studies, and overall project development
    • Collaborate with the engineering and product teams, providing UK-specific guidance for design for constructability and integration as necessary
    • Assist in contract negotiations with vendors, contractors, and suppliers, ensuring adherence to terms throughout the project lifecycle
    • Support the development and management of budgets for prototype and power plant projects, ensuring financial discipline and efficiency
    • Create and manage project schedules, proactively identify potential risks, and develop effective mitigation strategies
    • Manage both internal and external resources, ensuring that projects, particularly demonstration projects, are completed on time and within budget
    • Regularly report project status and progress to senior management and other stakeholders, leveraging excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills

Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Maths, Business Management, or a related field
    • Master's degree or MBA is preferred
    • 10+ years of experience in technical project management, preferably within the energy sector
    • Track record of leading engineering, fabrication or demonstration projects from start to finish
    • Strong understanding of project planning, budgeting, risk management, and contract negotiation
    • Experience managing and collaborating with contracted firms in various conditions
    • Professional certification in project management or risk management is a plus
    • Existing relationships within the UK energy and infrastructure supply chain
    • Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to handle complex challenges effectively
