Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Field Technician with a background in biology to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting and preparing samples of materials undergoing durability testing. This role involves fieldwork, laboratory work, and data management to ensure accurate and timely analysis of material properties.

Key Responsibilities:

Sample Collection:
Travel to various field sites to collect material samples for durability testing.
Ensure proper handling and transportation of samples to maintain their integrity.
Use biological knowledge to identify and document any relevant environmental factors affecting the samples.
Testing and Analysis:
Conduct preliminary tests and assessments on collected samples in both field and laboratory settings.
Assist with preparing samples for more detailed laboratory analysis.
Data Recording and Reporting:
Accurately record sample data, including collection site, date, and any notable observations.
Maintain detailed logs and update the database with collected data.
Prepare reports summarizing findings and highlighting any deviations or concerns.
Equipment Maintenance:
Ensure sampling equipment is properly calibrated and maintained.
Conduct routine checks and perform basic maintenance on field equipment.
Compliance and Safety:
Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while performing field and laboratory duties.
Follow proper biohazard waste disposal procedures.
Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures regarding sample handling and testing.
Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with laboratory staff to ensure smooth transfer and analysis of samples.
Communicate effectively with the Field Operations Manager and other team members regarding project status and any issues encountered.

Qualifications:

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
Experience:
Previous experience in fieldwork or laboratory settings is preferred but not required.
Familiarity with sample collection techniques and biological field studies is a plus.
Skills:
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proficient in using field and laboratory equipment.
Basic understanding of data entry and management.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to work in various weather conditions and terrains.
Capability to lift and carry equipment and samples weighing up to 50 lbs.
Willingness to travel to various field sites as required.
$15 - $18 an hour
