Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Engineering Documentation Specialist/Writer with a strong background in creating, managing, and editing technical documents for engineering teams. The ideal candidate will collaborate with engineers, project managers, and stakeholders to develop high-quality documentation that effectively communicates technical information to diverse audiences. This is a 3 month contract to hire.
Responsibilities:
- Documentation Development:
- Create, update, and maintain engineering documents, including specifications, technical manuals, process guides, test procedures, and design documentation.
- Translate complex technical concepts and processes into clear, concise, and user-friendly content.
- Collaboration and Review:
- Work closely with engineers, designers, and project teams to gather technical information.
- Review and edit content provided by subject matter experts (SMEs) to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency.
- Documentation Management:
- Develop and maintain templates, style guides, and documentation standards.
- Organize and manage document libraries to ensure easy retrieval and proper version control.
- Technical Accuracy:
- Verify technical details and ensure all documentation adheres to company and industry standards.
- Update documents in response to engineering changes, regulatory requirements, or process improvements.
- Tools and Software:
- Utilize documentation tools, content management systems (CMS), and software such as Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and CAD software to create and manage documents.
- Work with version control systems (e.g., Git) for document updates.
$30 - $50 an hour
