The Project Manager for Construction, a general contractor providing construction management for the Federal government, oversees the daily activities of Site Superintendents and is ultimately responsible for the entire project.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate professionalism and uphold a policy of superior customer service.
- Define project purpose and scope; calculate resources required; establish standards and protocols; allocate resources; schedule and coordinate staff and sub-contractors; evaluate milestone assumptions and conclusions; resolve design problems; assess and implement change orders.
- Meet operational standards by contributing construction information to strategic plans and reviews; implement production, productivity, quality, and customer service standards; resolve problems; identify construction management system enhancements.
- Select, train, assign, counsel, and discipline employees; voice job expectations; plan, monitor, and assess job performance; recommend compensation actions; adhere to policies and procedures.
- Identify, evaluate, and select subcontractors based on performance and quality workmanship.
- Oversee preparation of daily logs and reports of construction activity for office submittal.
- Supervise change proposals, proposal requests, requests for information; supplemental instructions, and other contract documentation as required.
- Prepare accurate, timely, and detailed monthly project status reports. Reports will include a description of work completed to date, schedule going forward, deviations from previous reports, subcontractor change orders, and customer issues and/or project scope changes.
Requirements
- Five (5) years’ work experience in management, project development, and implementation of Design-Build construction.
- Solid background in management of commercial construction projects.
- An ability to manage a multimillion-dollar project portfolio and a team made up of Project Managers, Design Engineers, Estimators, Contract Administrators, Administrative staff, Field Installers, Vendors, and Subcontractors.
- A thorough knowledge of all construction-related trades.
- Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Project, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and R.S. Means.
$75,000 - $90,000 a year
