Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Controller with a strong background in Government Contracting (GovCon) to lead the financial operations of our company. The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of FAR/DFARS regulations, DCAA compliance, indirect rate structures, and cost accounting standards (CAS). This individual will be responsible for managing accounting, compliance, reporting, and budgeting functions to ensure financial integrity and regulatory adherence.

Responsibilities:

    • Oversee all accounting operations including billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, general ledger, and financial reporting.
    • Ensure compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) requirements, and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS).
    • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP and contract requirements.
    • Manage indirect cost rate calculations and submissions (e.g., provisional billing rates, incurred cost submissions).
    • Support internal and external audits including DCAA audits, financial statement audits, and other regulatory reviews.
    • Develop and maintain budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections.
    • Oversee contract pricing, revenue recognition, and project/job cost accounting.
    • Collaborate with executive leadership on financial planning, risk management, and strategic initiatives.
    • Ensure systems, controls, and processes are efficient and support scalability and compliance.
    • Evaluate and implement accounting software and systems enhancements; experience with Deltek Costpoint, Unanet, or similar ERP systems is preferred.
    • Supervise and mentor accounting staff, ensuring ongoing professional development and performance management.
