Salary: $90,000 - 110,000/year
The Tax Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing tax compliance, tax planning, and advisory services for a diverse range of clients. This individual will manage a team of tax professionals, ensure the timely and accurate completion of tax returns, and provide strategic guidance to clients on complex tax matters.

Responsiblities

    • Oversee the preparation and review of federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and other entities.
    • Manage deadlines and coordinate the flow of information to ensure timely filing of tax returns.
    • Review tax provisions and workpapers for accuracy and compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations.
    • Provide tax planning strategies to help clients minimize tax liabilities while maximizing business opportunities.
    • Advise clients on tax implications of major business decisions, such as mergers, acquisitions, and restructuring.
    • Assist with international tax issues, cross-border transactions, and tax credits or incentives.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, building and maintaining strong, long-term relationships.
    • Communicate complex tax issues to clients in a clear and understandable manner.
    • Identify opportunities for additional tax services to existing clients and collaborate with other teams to cross-sell firm services.
    • Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of tax associates and seniors, providing guidance and feedback to foster professional growth.
    • Assist in the training and development of junior staff on tax processes, client management, and technical matters.
    • Review work completed by junior staff and provide constructive feedback for continuous improvement.
    • Stay current on changes in tax laws and regulations at the federal, state, and local levels, and ensure compliance with all applicable tax requirements.
    • Interpret tax law, regulations, and case law to advise clients on the best course of action for their specific situations.
    • Ensure compliance with firm policies and IRS regulations while managing the firm's exposure to tax risks.
    • Review tax positions and assess potential risks related to client strategies or transactions.
    • Manage engagement budgets and ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget.
    • Oversee the preparation of billing statements and monitor the firm’s revenue and collections.

Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. Master’s degree in Taxation or LLM is a plus.
    • CPA (Certified Public Accountant) designation required.
    • 3+ years of progressive experience in tax compliance and planning, preferably in public accounting.
    • Strong experience with corporate, partnership, and individual tax returns and complex tax matters.
    • Previous experience managing a team and supervising staff is highly preferred.
