About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Data Center Project Civil Engineer with a focus on infrastructure and data center design to join our team. This role is critical to the planning, design, and construction of state-of-the-art data center facilities. The ideal candidate will have expertise in civil engineering principles, site development, and infrastructure design, ensuring that all data center projects meet the highest standards for performance, scalability, and sustainability. This position requires an active Secret clearance or higher.
Responsibilities:
- Site Development & Civil Engineering Design:
- Plan and design civil engineering aspects of data center projects, including grading, drainage, access roads, utility coordination, and stormwater management.
- Conduct site evaluations to identify potential challenges and provide recommendations for site layout and infrastructure.
- Ensure designs comply with local zoning regulations, building codes, and environmental standards.
- Infrastructure Design & Coordination:
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, electrical, and structural engineers) to integrate civil engineering designs into overall data center plans.
- Design and oversee utility connections, such as water, sewer, power, and telecommunications infrastructure.
- Develop erosion control plans and ensure proper implementation during construction.
- Project Management:
- Manage civil engineering components of data center projects from concept through completion, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
- Oversee contractors, vendors, and consultants to ensure adherence to project specifications and timelines.
- Review and approve technical drawings, specifications, and submittals related to civil engineering work.
- Regulatory Compliance & Risk Mitigation:
- Obtain necessary permits and approvals for civil engineering work from local, state, and federal authorities.
- Identify and mitigate risks related to soil conditions, drainage issues, and environmental impacts.
- Conduct site inspections to verify compliance with design plans and safety standards.
- Sustainability & Innovation:
- Incorporate sustainable practices and innovative solutions into designs, focusing on energy efficiency, water conservation, and environmental impact reduction.
- Research and implement the latest civil engineering technologies and materials to enhance data center performance and durability.
- Documentation & Reporting:
- Prepare detailed engineering reports, construction documents, and as-built drawings.
- Maintain accurate records of all project activities and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
