The Contract Analyst will play a key role in analyzing contracts and proposals to ensure compliance with federal regulations and policies. This position requires a clearable candidate with extensive experience in federal contracting, particularly within the Department of Defense. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a thorough understanding of price and cost analysis.

Daily Responsibilities

    • Contract Analysis: Review and analyze contract proposals, modifications, and related documents to ensure compliance with federal regulations and Department of Defense guidelines.
    • Price and Cost Analysis: Conduct thorough price and cost analyses to assess price reasonableness. Evaluate proposals against historical data, actual and estimated expenditures, and established rates.
    • Negotiation Support: Provide analytical support for contract negotiations, including the development of negotiation positions based on comprehensive cost analysis.
    • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to applicable federal acquisition regulations (FAR) and DoD policies throughout the contracting process.
    • Documentation: Maintain accurate and organized documentation of contract reviews, analyses, and communications to support audit and compliance efforts.
    • Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, procurement officers, and other stakeholders to gather information and provide insights for effective contract management.
    • Reporting: Prepare detailed reports and presentations on contract analysis findings, price reasonableness assessments, and recommendations for action.

Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
    • Multiple years of experience working directly (non-contracting) with the federal government, particularly within the Department of Defense.
    • Strong knowledge of price and cost analysis principles and practices, including the ability to assess proposals against previous history and established rates.
    • Familiarity with federal acquisition regulations (FAR) and DoD contracting processes.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
    • Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
    • Must be a clearable candidate, eligible for government security clearance.
    • Experience with the PD2 contract writing system is highly desirable.
