Job Title: Mechanical Engineer

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing mechanical devices and systems for the Navy, including tools, engines, and machines. The role requires a strong understanding of engineering principles, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with a team of engineers and other professionals.

Key Responsibilities

Design and Development: Create detailed designs of mechanical systems, components, and products using CAD software.
Analysis and Testing: Conduct simulations and tests on prototypes to ensure they meet design specifications and safety standards. Analyze test results and make necessary modifications.
Project Management: Oversee the manufacturing process of mechanical devices. Coordinate with suppliers, manufacturers, and other engineers to ensure timely delivery of products.
Documentation: Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation, including technical drawings, specifications, and project reports.
Problem Solving: Identify mechanical issues and develop effective solutions. Perform root cause analysis on mechanical failures and implement corrective actions.
Compliance: Ensure designs comply with industry standards and regulations. Stay updated on new technologies and industry trends.
Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, software developers, and project managers, to integrate mechanical systems with other components.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Experience: Proven experience as a Mechanical Engineer or similar role. Experience with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and FEA software.

Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Work Environment

Lab/Manufacturing Environment: May require visits to manufacturing facilities or labs for testing and analysis.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
Occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
