Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Build, calibrate, and validate computer models for water and sewer systems to evaluate system performance.
- Conduct hydraulic analyses to support master planning, capital improvement planning (CIP), and design projects.
- Prepare technical calculations, reports, and documentation in accordance with client specifications and industry standards.
- Identify performance deficiencies in collection and distribution systems, forecast future capacity issues, and recommend solutions.
- Execute project management tasks for modeling assignments, including scope development, budget tracking, and progress reporting.
- Perform quality control and quality assurance reviews on modeling deliverables and project documents.
- Provide updates to project managers and clients on modeling results, progress, and recommendations.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers and design staff in modeling tools and methodologies.
- Participate in client meetings, present technical findings, and deliver consultative support throughout project execution.
Required Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
- 8–10+ years of relevant engineering experience, with a focus on hydraulic modeling and infrastructure planning.
- Proficiency in modeling software such as InfoWorks ICM, InfoWater, WaterGEMS, or SewerGEMS.
- Experience with GIS tools, transient analysis, and data management.
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts clearly.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively on multidisciplinary teams and manage project deliverables.
$55 - $70 an hour
