The Water/Wastewater Project Engineer is responsible for designing and delivering water and wastewater infrastructure projects in compliance with regulatory standards. Key duties include preparing permits, performing hydraulic calculations and modeling, developing drawings and cost estimates, and supporting construction oversight. 

Salary: $80-135k/yr depending on experience and education

Responsibilities:

    • Design water and wastewater infrastructure in compliance with municipal, state, and federal standards.
    • Prepare and file permitting documentation with appropriate regulatory bodies.
    • Perform hydraulic and process calculations to determine proper equipment sizing and selection.
    • Carry out hydraulic modeling for water distribution and wastewater collection systems.
    • Direct feasibility studies and engineering assessments for water and wastewater projects.
    • Create comprehensive construction drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
    • Support construction activities by reviewing contractor submissions, addressing RFIs, processing pay applications, and facilitating project meetings.
    • Manage the construction and installation of water and wastewater facilities.
    • Conduct studies related to user rates and tapping fees.
    • Draft project proposals, including detailed scopes of work and fee structures.

Requirements:

    • Bachelors Degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering or related field
    • Water or wastewater design experience
    • PE License or ability to obtain
$80,000 - $135,000 a year
