Responsibilities:
Drafting and Design: Create detailed architectural drawings, plans, and blueprints using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit). Produce floor plans, elevations, sections, and details based on sketches, specifications, and design concepts provided by architects and designers.
Technical Documentation: Prepare construction documents, drawing sets, and permit drawings in accordance with project requirements, building codes, and industry standards. Ensure accuracy, completeness, and clarity of drawings, notes, and dimensions.
Coordination: Coordinate with architects, engineers, consultants, and other stakeholders to integrate architectural drawings with structural, mechanical, electrical, and other building systems. Review and incorporate design changes, markups, and revisions into drawings as directed.
Code Compliance: Ensure architectural designs and drawings comply with applicable building codes, zoning regulations, ADA requirements, and other regulatory requirements. Perform code analysis, research, and documentation to support compliance efforts.
Quality Control: Review drawings and models for accuracy, consistency, and quality assurance. Verify dimensions, scale, and specifications to ensure alignment with project requirements and design intent. Identify and resolve errors, discrepancies, and conflicts in drawings.
Visualization and Rendering: Assist in creating 3D models, renderings, and visualizations of architectural designs using BIM software (e.g., Revit, SketchUp). Generate presentation materials, renderings, and animations to communicate design concepts to clients, stakeholders, and project teams.
Documentation Management: Maintain organized and up-to-date project files, drawing archives, and documentation records. Manage revisions, version control, and document control procedures to track changes and updates throughout the design process.
Collaboration: Collaborate with architects, designers, and project managers to support project objectives, timelines, and deliverables. Participate in design meetings, coordination sessions, and project reviews to contribute ideas, insights, and solutions.
Qualifications:
Associate degree or certification in Architectural Drafting, Architecture, or related field. Bachelor's degree is a plus.
5+ years of experience as an architectural drafter, preferably in an architectural firm or design studio.
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) and familiarity with BIM tools.
Strong understanding of architectural principles, construction techniques, and building systems.
Knowledge of building codes, regulations, and industry standards (e.g., IBC, ADA, LEED).
Excellent drafting skills, attention to detail, and ability to produce accurate and high-quality drawings.
Good communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment.
$75,000 - $80,000 a year
