Position Overview: 

The Sr. Environmental Scientist will play a crucial role in leading and executing environmental projects, focusing on regulatory compliance, ecological restoration, and delineation activities. This position requires extensive experience in federal, state, and local regulatory permit applications and a strong background in ecological restoration and delineation. The ideal candidate will possess excellent project management skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders to achieve project goals. This position offers 1-2 days of remote flexibility per week.

Responsibilities:

    • Regulatory Compliance:
    • Lead the preparation and submission of federal, state, and local regulatory permit applications.
    • Ensure all projects comply with environmental regulations and standards, including NEPA, Clean Water Act, Endangered Species Act, and other relevant legislation.
    • Conduct environmental assessments and impact studies to support permit applications.
    • Ecological Restoration:
    • Design and implement ecological restoration projects, including wetland creation, stream restoration, and habitat enhancement.
    • Develop restoration plans, monitor progress, and ensure successful project completion.
    • Collaborate with clients, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders to achieve restoration goals.
    • Delineation:
    • Conduct wetland and stream delineations, vegetation surveys, and habitat assessments.
    • Prepare detailed reports and mapping to support project planning and regulatory submissions.
    • Utilize GPS, GIS, and other tools for accurate data collection and analysis.
    • Project Management:
    • Manage multiple environmental projects simultaneously, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
    • Develop project scopes, budgets, and schedules, and track progress against these plans.
    • Coordinate with internal teams, subcontractors, and clients to ensure successful project delivery.
    • Technical Expertise:
    • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff members.
    • Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices in environmental science and regulatory compliance.
    • Participate in professional development opportunities and contribute to the company's knowledge base.
    • Client and Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, regulatory agencies, and community stakeholders.
    • Represent the company at public meetings, hearings, and other forums as needed.
    • Communicate project progress, findings, and recommendations to clients and stakeholders effectively.
