Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer with expertise in software interface design, development, and integration. The ideal candidate will work at the intersection of hardware and software, ensuring seamless communication and functionality between system components. This role is crucial in designing and implementing interfaces that enable interoperability and support system performance and scalability. This is a 6 month contract to hire.
Responsibilities:
- System Design & Integration
- Develop and implement software interfaces to facilitate communication between hardware, software, and external systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system requirements and interface specifications.
- Ensure compatibility and interoperability between system components through rigorous testing and validation.
- Requirements Analysis
- Analyze and translate business and technical requirements into interface specifications.
- Document and maintain system interface control documents (ICDs) and design artifacts.
- Interface Development
- Design, implement, and optimize APIs, protocols, and middleware to support system integration.
- Work with software developers and hardware engineers to ensure interfaces meet performance, security, and scalability requirements.
- Testing & Troubleshooting
- Conduct interface testing, including unit, integration, and system-level testing.
- Identify and resolve compatibility issues, performance bottlenecks, and system anomalies.
- System Maintenance & Support
- Maintain and enhance existing software interfaces to support evolving system requirements.
- Provide technical support and training to teams involved in system operations and integration.
- Documentation & Reporting
- Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, including interface specifications, user guides, and test reports.
- Provide regular updates to stakeholders on system status, risks, and improvements.
$70,000 - $85,000 a year
