Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated Electrical/Manufacturing Engineer II with strong expertise in Altium Designer and PCB design to support the development and manufacturing of electronic hardware products. This role bridges electrical engineering design and manufacturing processes, ensuring seamless transition from prototype to production while optimizing quality, reliability, and manufacturability. This position offers occasional hybrid flexibility and is typically Monday-Thursday 7am-4:30pm.
Responsibilities:
- PCB Design & Development:
- Design and layout complex, multi-layer PCBs using Altium Designer.
- Collaborate with electrical and mechanical engineering teams to develop schematics, footprints, and layouts.
- Conduct design reviews and ensure compliance with industry and company standards (IPC, DFM/DFT, etc.).
- Generate and manage BOMs, Gerber files, and fabrication/assembly documentation.
- Manufacturing Engineering:
- Support new product introduction (NPI) processes, including design transfer from R&D to manufacturing.
- Troubleshoot and resolve design or production-related issues involving PCBs, wiring, and system-level integration.
- Evaluate and implement process improvements to enhance quality, yield, and cost efficiency.
- Work closely with contract manufacturers (CMs) and suppliers to resolve issues and streamline production.
- Testing and Validation:
- Develop and execute test plans and protocols for prototype and production units.
- Use lab equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, function generators, etc.) for circuit validation and troubleshooting.
- Analyze field and production feedback to implement design or process changes.
- Documentation & Compliance:
- Create and maintain engineering documentation, including schematics, test reports, and ECOs.
- Ensure designs meet regulatory and safety standards (e.g., UL, CE, RoHS).
