On-site
Responsibilities:
System Design: Design mechanical components and systems for power generation, transmission, and distribution infrastructure. Develop conceptual designs, detailed drawings, and specifications for equipment such as turbines, generators, transformers, and cooling systems.
Equipment Specification: Specify mechanical equipment and materials for power systems, including pumps, motors, valves, heat exchangers, and piping systems. Evaluate technical requirements, performance criteria, and cost considerations to select appropriate components and suppliers.
Analysis and Simulation: Perform mechanical analysis and simulation using engineering software (e.g., ANSYS, SolidWorks, COMSOL) to assess system performance, reliability, and efficiency. Conduct stress analysis, thermal analysis, and fluid flow simulations to validate design assumptions and optimize performance.
Heat Transfer and Thermodynamics: Apply principles of heat transfer, thermodynamics, and fluid dynamics to design and analyze thermal management systems for power generation equipment. Optimize heat dissipation, cooling efficiency, and temperature control to maximize equipment reliability and lifespan.
Structural Integrity: Ensure structural integrity and mechanical stability of power systems components and structures. Conduct structural analysis, fatigue analysis, and vibration analysis to evaluate static and dynamic loads, stress concentrations, and fatigue life.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and best practices in mechanical engineering. Interpret and apply relevant codes and standards, such as ASME, ASTM, API, and ANSI, to mechanical designs and installations.
Project Management: Manage mechanical engineering projects from concept to completion, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation. Coordinate with cross-functional teams, vendors, and contractors to ensure successful project execution and delivery.
Documentation and Reporting: Prepare technical specifications, design reports, engineering drawings, and documentation packages for mechanical systems and components. Document design decisions, calculations, analyses, and recommendations in accordance with industry standards and company procedures.
