About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer with a strong background in Department of Defense (DOD) programs and Printed Circuit Board (PCB) design. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, development, and testing of electronic hardware for mission-critical defense applications. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a secure development environment and a deep understanding of military standards and rugged hardware design.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop PCB layouts and schematics using industry-standard tools (e.g., Altium Designer, OrCAD, Mentor Graphics).
Create and maintain electrical documentation including BOMs, test plans, and engineering change orders.
Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to develop embedded systems, signal processing hardware, and power management circuitry.
Perform signal integrity analysis, power distribution analysis, and thermal design evaluations.
Ensure all hardware designs meet DOD specifications, MIL-STD requirements, and reliability goals.
Support environmental and EMC testing and troubleshoot hardware-related issues in the lab.
Participate in design reviews, program status meetings, and documentation updates.
Work closely with manufacturing and test teams to support production and resolve technical issues.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
3–8 years of experience in electrical engineering with a focus on PCB design.
Hands-on experience with DOD projects or military electronics systems.
Proficiency in one or more PCB design tools such as Altium, OrCAD, or Mentor Graphics.
Working knowledge of high-speed digital design, power electronics, and mixed-signal systems.
Familiarity with MIL-STD specifications and IPC standards for board design and assembly.
Strong troubleshooting and lab skills, including use of oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, etc.
Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Active Secret or higher U.S. security clearance.
Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
Experience with FPGA, microcontrollers, or embedded systems.
Familiarity with design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for test (DFT).
Exposure to RF circuit design or EMI/EMC compliance testing.
$80,000 - $120,000 a year
