Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Network Specialist with hands-on experience in network equipment racking and wireless access point deployment. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in the physical setup, installation, and maintenance of network hardware and ensure optimal performance of wired and wireless network infrastructure across multiple locations. This position is a 2 month contract.
Responsibilities:
- Rack, stack, and cable network hardware including switches, routers, firewalls, and patch panels in data centers or network closets
- Install and configure wireless access points (APs) including ceiling, wall, or pole-mounted installations
- Perform site surveys for wireless coverage and recommend optimal AP placement
- Label and document all cabling and equipment for proper network topology tracking
- Troubleshoot hardware and connectivity issues related to both wired and wireless networks
- Collaborate with network engineers on the rollout and expansion of network infrastructure
- Maintain and update inventory of network devices and deployment records
- Ensure compliance with safety and cabling standards during installation
- Provide on-site or remote support for moves, adds, and changes (MAC) to network equipment
- Assist in upgrading firmware and applying security patches to network hardware
$20 - $22 an hour
