At Layup Parts, we build the future, faster. We’re a manufacturing-technology startup that helps design and produce high-performance composite parts for aerospace and defense companies. Our customers are developing tomorrow's high-tech products, and we are building technology to accelerate their success — cutting production time from months to days.

We’re looking for a Part-Time Operations Intern to help keep our shop running smoothly and efficiently. You’ll work directly with our Operations team on hands-on projects that support everything from organizing production areas to researching suppliers and materials.

This is a great opportunity for students who want to see how a modern manufacturing environment operates and be part of a fast-growing company while gaining real-world experience in a high-tech production environment.

What You'll Do:

    • Assist with shop organization tasks such as labeling, counting inventory, tool audits, and workstation setup.
    • Support freezer inventory and organization for prepreg materials, helping maintain traceability and cleanliness standards.
    • Conduct miscellaneous procurement and vendor research.
    • Help track and restock essential materials and consumables across production areas.
    • Support documentation and light data entry related to operations and maintenance logs.
    • Collaborate with Operations, Production, and Facilities teams to identify small process improvements that save time or improve flow.
    • Jump in wherever needed to keep things moving quickly and efficiently.

Who You Are:

    • Be awesome! Be the kind of person you want to work with!
    • A student or recent grad studying Operations, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Engineering, or Business.
    • Highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented.
    • Comfortable in a hands-on shop environment (light lifting, standing/walking).
    • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
    • Curious about manufacturing technology and continuous improvement.
    • Proficient with Google Sheets / Excel and basic research tasks.
    • Available to work 10-20 hours per week on-site in Huntington Beach.

What You’ll Gain:

    • Direct exposure to the operations of a fast-paced, high-growth manufacturing startup.
    • Experience collaborating with engineers, technicians, and operations leaders.
    • Hands-on understanding of lean manufacturing, material control, and shop organization best practices.
    • Opportunity to make a visible impact in a small, ambitious team.
