The Sheryl Sandberg & Dave Goldberg Family Foundation works to build a more equal and resilient world. We bring people together to support each other through three key initiatives: LeanIn.Org, OptionB.Org, and the Dave Goldberg Scholarship Program.  

We are looking for a Senior Manager for Option B to support our mission of helping people build resilience and find meaning in the face of adversity. This individual will be responsible for overseeing the strategy and operations of the entire Option B program team—including an online social community of over 900,000 people, a website with educational materials and ongoing partnerships to raise public awareness for the program mission. If you can create and grow a safe and welcoming digital program spanning multiple digital channels, we can’t wait to meet you.

Due to COVID-19, our team is working remotely (on PDT hours) through December 2021. Closer to the end of the year, we'll reevaluate this approach. And longer-term we're planning to operate as a hybrid team, with some team members working in-person and some working remotely, depending on the nature of their role, their leadership responsibilities, and the composition of their team. For people who work in-person, we'll maintain our standard schedule of three in-office and two work-from-home days.


    • Oversee the strategy and operations of the Option B Program team, whose work includes community management, social, web marketing, written content, and partnerships
    • Cross functionally collaborate with teams across the foundation
    • Work closely with the web team to ensure that the website is compelling and easy to navigate
    • Work closely with the marketing and partnerships teams to ensure that Option B’s materials reach the audiences who can benefit from them
    • Establish a shared vision across stakeholders by building consensus on the priorities and goals, and collaborate cross-functionally to ensure all teams are executing against the program vision
    • Oversee growth and engagement of our community - including our social channels and FB Group
    • Conceptualize and execute initiatives to deliver creative content to both and to grow them through exposure, partnerships, and other strategic initiatives, all with diversity and inclusion in mind
    • Project manage marketing and comms initiatives for the Option B team - including our annual #OptionBThere campaigns on Mother’s and Father’s Day and over the December holidays as well as thought leadership initiatives like op-eds
    • Define, analyze, and own key metrics (such as survey reporting and KPIs) that will inform the success of our programs
    • Manage programmatic budget
    • Manage, mentor, and be accountable for professional development of a small but mighty Option B programs team - including FTE, contractors, and interns


    • Passion for missions of Option B, Lean In, and the Dave Goldberg Scholarship Program -- but especially Option B 
    • Strong advocate for equity, inclusion, and uplifting marginalized voices and ensures this lens is applied across all aspects of Option B’s programming 
    • 5-7 years of experience managing the impact and/or growth of programs or brands
    • 2+ years of experience managing teams to success, with strong track record of developing talent
    • Project management experience 
    • Strong marketing sensibility, with experience growing social and digital presences
    • Strong business acumen and strategic intuition to optimize for impact metrics 
    • Experience managing and executing against high visibility, complex, and cross-functional projects, especially with limited resources 
    • Exceptional people management and ownership skills, with a track record of influencing all levels of an organization
    • Strong data analytics skills
    • Excellent written and verbal communication
    • Strong ability to move things forward and drive cross-functional teams to alignment in the midst of ambiguity
    • Demonstrated ability to think critically about partners and community needs, leading to thoughtful responses and recommendations
    • Ability to learn, follow-through, and improve on foundation processes to set team and principal set up for success
    • Experience working with high-profile executives
    • Content marketing/writing experience a plus 
    • Community management experience a plus
    • Available to consistently work PDT hours
    • Remote experience a plus
