The Sheryl Sandberg & Dave Goldberg Family Foundation (SGFF) works to build a more equal and resilient world. We bring people together to support each other through three key initiatives: LeanIn.Org, OptionB.Org, and the Dave Goldberg Scholarship Program. 

We are looking for a Program Director to lead the development, launch, and growth of a new program for Lean In. The ideal candidate is passionate about driving change for women and girls and has a deep understanding of the unique challenges they face. Due to COVID-19, our team is working remotely on PDT hours through July 2021. Beyond that, this full-time position will be based out of our office in Palo Alto, CA. 
 

Responsibilities

    • OPERATIONS
    • Build, manage and mentor a small team 
    • Manage day-to-day operations of the program
    • Build and own engagement of program’s Advisory Board(s)
    • PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT AND LAUNCH
    • Own and oversee the program’s development
    • Develop a high level strategy aligned with Lean In’s strengths as well as the needs of the target audience
    • Provide strategic guidance and tactical reviews for curriculum development, optimization, and iterations
    • Provide strategic guidance and tactical reviews for the development of a strong social media presence and ongoing strategy
    • Design and oversee program pilots that inform and shape programmatic content development and programming structure
    • Shape the program with a strong DEI (diversity, equity, and inclusion) lens - constantly pushing the initiative toward more equitable and intersectional outcomes
    • Define efficacy measures and set targets that guide the program towards measurable and meaningful impact
    • Own and oversee the program’s national rollout, coordinating and collaborating with senior leadership and cross-functional teams
    • Build meaningful partnerships that help the program and its materials reach new audiences 
    • Build a go to market plan to reach the program’s target audience
    • Collaborate on the development of a brand and web presence that is engaging to our target audience
    • GROWTH AND IMPACT
    • Own ongoing growth of the program (nationally and globally) through partnerships, digital marketing strategies, etc.
    • Build the brand into an established thought leader in its space
    • Own impact assessments and ROI decision-making for the program

Requirements

    • EXPERIENCE
    • 12-15 years of experience and at least 3+ years in senior management or senior leadership roles
    • Demonstrated track record of developing, launching, and running large-scale programs or initiatives that drive tangible impact
    • Demonstrated operations experience, leading effective teams and high-profile cross-functional efforts
    • Experience developing or overseeing the development of content that is highly effective and engaging
    • Experience establishing and driving programmatic partnerships
    • Strong track record leading efficient, high-performing cross-functional teams with a thoughtful, empathetic approach
    • EXPERTISE
    • Passion for missions of Lean In, Option B, and the Dave Goldberg Scholarship Program
    • Strong advocate for equity, inclusion, and uplifting marginalized voices
    • Strong understanding of go-to-market strategies and ways to reach large audiences
    • Extensive working knowledge of intersectional women’s and girl’s space and strong advocate for issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion, with a consistent commitment to inclusion and anti-racism 
    • Deep expertise in program development and impact assessment
    • Strong knowledge of digital marketing trends for girls and women
    • Deep understanding of the lived experiences of:
    • Girls and women and of issues impacting their communities
    • Marginalized communities – with demonstrated ability to drive more equitable and intersectional outcomes
    • SKILLS
    • Strong business acumen, with excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • A knack for content development
    • Excellent cross-functional management skills, with the ability to coordinate teams to drive towards a shared goal
    • Proactive problem-solving skills with consistent ability to drive even the most ambiguous situations toward clarity
    • Ability to represent the Foundation at external events and in media as needed
    • Extremely adaptable with ability to be reactive and shift priorities and plans when needed
    • Eagerness to play both high and low, pitching in in big and small ways wherever leadership is needed
    • Ability to learn, follow through, and improve on foundation processes to set team and principal up for success
    • Thrives in a fast-paced environment; startup experience a plus
    • Ability to tackle complex problems with a strategic mindset and thoughtful, proactive approach
    • Available to consistently work PDT hours
    • Remote experience a plus
