The Product Design team at LeanTaaS is growing, and we’re looking for an experienced product designer to help lead UX and design efforts for our products. This role is a great fit for a skilled generalist—someone who’s excited about shaping the full product lifecycle, from early discovery to launch and iteration.
As part of one collaborative team, product designers at LeanTaaS are true partners to product and engineering in defining the vision, running research, prototyping ideas, and guiding implementation every step of the way. You won’t just hand off files—you’ll be involved through development and beyond, helping the team make smart decisions and refine as we go.
Our designers are deeply product-minded. They think in systems, care about outcomes, and aren’t afraid to question assumptions or help shape strategy. They are driven by a customer-first mindset, balancing business goals with user outcomes to improve the healthcare experience for patients and providers.
We’re also actively using ChatGPT, Figma Make, and other AI tools to move faster and explore broader solutions. The most qualified applicants will be leveraging AI already—and finding ways to work even smarter with it.
The Hiring Process
Every application is reviewed by the hiring manager, our Head of Design. You don’t need a cover letter—just a resume packed with experience, and ideally a portfolio that shows what you’re capable of.
Qualified applicants will get a call from the hiring manager to talk product design and learn about our team. A few folks (typically 3–4) are invited to meet more of the team—designers, PMs, and front-end engineers. Then, you tell us who else you’d like to meet. Customer support? Data science? The CEO? You choose.
We’re serious about making sure you get a real sense of our company, culture, and team—so you can figure out if LeanTaaS is the right fit for you.
You don’t need to be a 10/10 in every area below, but you’ll touch all of them across the initiatives you’ll work on. Specialization will come as we grow, but we operate like startups within a startup—and we love that.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Interaction design: Create user flows, sketches, diagrams, and high-level concepts to drive alignment with stakeholders and customers. Strong grasp of accessibility principles.
- Research: Plan and conduct user interviews, usability tests, surveys, and data reviews. Confident in synthesizing insights and turning them into practical design solutions. You know when to lead with curiosity and when to look at the numbers.
- Design system: Contribute to and maintain our shared Figma library. Partner with engineers on component design and evolution. Help keep our system grounded, flexible, and cohesive.
- Design strategy: Collaborate with PMs and Directors to scope design work and shape quarterly plans. Run workshops, lead early-stage concepting, and value-test new ideas with customers. You’re a thought partner on what to build—not just how to build it, constantly seeking innovative solutions to complex healthcare challenges.
- Leadership: Lead design efforts for a product team or initiative. Mentor junior designers, delegate thoughtfully, and share knowledge through lunch ’n’ learns and team reviews.
- Transparency: Keep your cross-functional teammates in the loop. Make design decisions visible and invite feedback early.
- Communication & collaboration: Work closely with PMs, engineers, end users, and analysts to understand context, align on goals, and drive toward shared outcomes. You help teams see the full picture.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
- Information architecture: Strong instincts for organizing complexity. You create clear navigation systems and content hierarchies that help people find what they need.
- Visual design: Refined visual sensibility and fluency in UI patterns. You bring polish without losing clarity—and can speak thoughtfully about design choices.
- Growth: A commitment to continuous learning—you actively invest in your growth and show measurable progress year over year, staying curious and seeking lessons in every challenge.
- Empathy: You advocate for users, customers, and your teammates. You know how to listen—and how to translate insight into action.
- Strong opinions, weakly held: You move forward with conviction but are ready to pivot as new information emerges. You see feedback as a gift and believe the best ideas come from collaboration.

- Don’t check every box above? That’s okay—no one does. Apply anyway.
