We are hiring an Instructor Success Specialist to help us develop the largest and most qualified pool of instructors around the US. We’re looking for an amazing person who is excited about our mission and helping guide the Instructor experience at Juni, including building out our Instructor coaching, community and ongoing career development. You will directly report to the Instructor Success Manager and work with a world-class team to scale and develop our Instructor pool.

Responsibilities

    • Teach 3-6 hours per week of Computer Science sessions with Juni students-- you will use the curriculum and teaching tools developed by Juni Learning. Each course is 50 minutes long, taught online, and may be a private (1-1) or small group class (maximum 2 students).
    • Collaborate with colleagues to develop Juni Instructors and support Juni students and families
    • Implement trainings with Juni Instructors, including coaching new Instructors and evaluating their success
    • Partner with the Instructor Success team to build a strong feedback loop to Instructors concerning customer communications
    • Coach Instructors on how to adapt curriculum/learning environment to achieve high family satisfaction rates
    • Become an expert on the Juni Curriculum-- advise Instructors and families on appropriate actions to further student learning
    • Observe Juni sessions and guide Instructors on best practices for instruction, including advice to improve classroom management
    • Respond to Instructor and parent inquiries in a timely manner
    • Assist with the implementation of pilot programs and processes with the goal of improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the Instructor Success team
    • Flexible and responsive on weekends for any emergencies and works empathetically with Instructors and families to resolve issues
    • Represent Juni well with Instructors and families, in written and video communication
    • Assist with the documentation and review of Instructor performance

Qualifications

    • 2+ years of full-time work experience (if you’ve taught with Juni, we may consider fewer years of work experience)
    • B.A. or B.S. ideally in Education, Computer Science, or a related field
    • Ability to teach basic programming is required
    • College-level coursework in computer science equivalent, or at least 2+ months of experience in one programming language
    • Experience working with young students and track record in improving student outcomes
    • Passion for building interest in computer science in kids and teenagers (ages 8-18)
    • Focused on hitting weekly and monthly targets with a demonstrated track record
    • Experience shifting priorities while maintaining a high degree of organization and control
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; organized and detail-oriented. You love spreadsheets and checking off items in a todo list
    • Represents Juni professionally with instructors, students, parents, and within the team
    • Self-driven to manage your own work and results with high standards
    • Openness to change, and quick to adapt to new systems
    • Team player and collaborates with others constructively and positively
    • Strong ethical and honest approach
