We are hiring our first People Operations Manager to lead our payroll and people ops functions. In this role you will help us build the culture and systems of a world-class, mission-driven team. We’re looking for an amazing person who is excited to create solutions that empower employees to do their best work and collaborate joyfully.

A big part of your job will be to supervise our payroll process and liaise with other professionals. Our ideal candidate is analytical and methodical, with experience in payroll administration and deep knowledge of payroll regulations. We also value integrity, team spirit and strong organizational skills.

Your goal will be to ensure our payroll and people operations procedures are compliant, efficient and current.

Responsibilities

    • Develop systems to process payroll account transactions (e.g. salaries, benefits, garnishments, deductions, taxes and third party payments)
    • Coordinate timekeeping and payroll systems
    • Oversee processing of payroll changes (e.g. new hires, terminations, raises) and system upgrades
    • Ensure compliance with relevant laws and internal policies
    • Maintain accurate records and prepare reports
    • Resolve issues and answer payroll-related questions
    • Provide executives with expertise on compensation, equity, and assist with operational reporting
    • Create and lead our benefit and wellness programs

Qualifications

    • Hands-on payroll operations experience
    • 5+ years of related experience in a payroll or HR role in which you built and owned people related programs end-to-end
    • Familiarity with payroll software/ HRIS (Experience with Rippling a plus) and MS Office (especially Excel)
    • A keen eye for detail
    • An analytical mind and good math skills
    • Outstanding communication skills (written and oral)
    • Organizational and leadership skills
    • You love spreadsheets and checking off items in a to-do list
    • Empathetic and focused on the best interests of the team and Juni's core values
    • Represents Juni professionally with parents, students, external organizations, and within the team
    • Self-driven to manage your own work and results with high standards
    • Openness to change, and quick to adapt to new systems

    • Experience managing direct reports preferred
    • Strong ethical and honest approach
