Ledger Origin, a Ledger affiliate, brings the security and blockchain expertise Ledger is known for to new application fields in IoT, such as origin certification of remotely collected data, using highly secure tools like embedded secure element (eSE) and hardware security module (HSM).

Ledger Origin is looking for an experienced hardware engineer to join its R&D team.

The scope includes prototyping hardware solutions, designing PCB for new devices and test benches, and participating in the production lines design and industrialization processes.
We are a small multidisciplinary team working in a fast paced environment and we are looking for a highly autonomous, tech savvy person, with a hands-on problem solving attitude and a strong innovation mindset. Our core technical environment includes Altium, ST components, analog electronics, low-power consumption devices and hardware security constraints.

Missions:

    • Work closely with firmware engineers on new devices architecture
    • Design new PCB according to the product and certification requirements
    • Test and validate new hardware, bring up prototypes
    • Contribute to  production release documents
    • Participate in the production line design and the industrialisation processes
    • Participate in hardware supplier relationships management
    • Reinforce hardware engineering expertise in a multidisciplinary team

Requirements and qualifications:

    • 5+ years of experience in electronics design and hardware engineering
    • Autonomous and well organized
    • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively on your work
    • Proven ability to design industrial grade PCB with certification constraints
    • Experience with schematic and layout design
    • Experience from early device conception to production releases
    • Hands on experience in prototyping hardware solutions
    • Basic embedded programming knowledge (Arduino, Raspberry)
    • Knowledge of standard communication buses (I2C, UART, SPI, USB)
    • Knowledge of radio and analog electronics (RF, Bluetooth, WiFi, LoRa)

Nice to have / willingness to learn:

    • Experience with embedded, low-power consumption devices
    • Hands on experience or personal interest in IoT
    • General knowledge of ST environment (STM32, CubeMX)
    • Experience with the Altium environment
    • Experience with hardware security constraints (anti-tampering, secure elements)
