Job Description:

We are looking for an Environmental Impact Analyst to grow with Ledger as we scale up our Sustainability team across the organization This is a role for an proven sustainability expert and compensation is commensurate with experience.  In this role, you’ll leverage customer data, scientific methods, and publicly available research to help analyze customers’ current impact, look for areas of improvement, and suggest ways to reduce their emissions.

You’ll play a key role in supporting our Environmental Impact product and services—moving from our current MVP  into tracking, forecasting, and reporting environmental metrics for a range of customers across different industries and cities. You will provide your expertise in understanding the current environmental policies, reporting standards, and calculation methods for accounting for greenhouse gas emissions. You’ll work closely with the Product, Design, Engineering, and Data Science teams to deliver truly impactful products and services to our customers. 
Job Responsibilities
-Analyze climate and sustainability metrics, such as greenhouse gas inventories of various organizations and  life cycle analysis of various products and services 
-Research policies, trends, and best practices related to climate change mitigation and adaptation, energy, transportation, natural resource management, and other sustainability topics.
-Synthesize and translate complex environmental impact  information into clear, informative, and compelling materials for internal and external audiences. 
-Work with the leadership team to create customer facing features with sustainability metrics to help reduce customers’ emissions and/ or purchase offsets.
Job Requirements:

-3+ years of experience and analyzing greenhouse gas emissions data for a given resource, product, or service. 
-Experience and understanding of the emissions reporting standards like SASB, GRI, CDP and  IPCC GHG Protocols 
-Ability to classify scope 1, scope 2, or scope 3 designation for a product or service based on known data points. 
-A collaborative spirit and ability to make others successful
-Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn a new, complex domain 

Job Location negotiable; will require some travel

Bonus Skills & Qualities:

-Experience in utility business or energy markets
-Familiarity with international climate protocols 
-Experience with standards or protocols  for state, federal, or financial reportingExperience or interest in learning Agile methodology
-Passion for sustainability & learning more about complex energy sectors
-Humility, and a curiosity to experiment and learn new things
