Vice President of Product

San Francisco, CA
Who we are:

Backed by QED Investors, Lendeavor is building the modern bank for healthcare providers to help improve the quality of care they provide to millions of patients nationwide. Healthcare professionals are facing increasing financial pressure and a complex landscape of services that are difficult to navigate. We're committed to empowering these professionals with technology-enabled offerings to make it easier for them to obtain the right financial products and services when they need them so that they can focus on what they do best -- providing outstanding care.

Our first step was to make streamlined business financing (for example, a $750,000 loan for a dentist to buy her first practice) available to busy healthcare practitioners at their convenience -- instead of during the typical 9-to-5 banker’s hours. On the back end, our software makes our team more efficient at processing -- without the overhead of a brick-and-mortar presence -- saving doctors even more time and money. This efficiency drives faster funding and lower rates. Since making our first loan only three years ago, we’ve become a top lender in the space. Going forward, we’re focused on expanding our service offerings to healthcare professionals with a commitment to simplicity, convenience, and efficiency.

About the role:

Working out of our San Francisco headquarters and reporting to the COO, you’ll own product strategy and planning, working closely with leadership to deliver a best-in-class financial services product offering to healthcare professionals. As Lendeavor scales and expands beyond lending to offer a vertically customized suite of financial products to healthcare professionals, we’re looking for a hands-on, technologically proficient leader to lead, define, and deliver innovative web and mobile solutions for users. Our goal is to be the center of our practitioner-members’ financial lives. Whether they’re seeking to identify and finance their first practice, save money on their student loans, ascend as entrepreneurs, or invest in the future, Lendeavor will empower them with great technology and service.

What you'll do:

    • Define product strategy to improve our core lending product and implement future “practitioner-customized” financial products (“Zillow for dental and veterinary practice transitions,” bank account, payment processing, student loan refinances, mortgages, wealth management, etc.)
    • Work with internal stakeholders from marketing, sales, credit, operations, and the executive team to translate business needs into a product strategy for the Lendeavor borrower experience, including developing success metrics
    • Work with designers, developers (local and remote), and subject matter experts to get project requirements well scoped, designed, and built for both web and mobile
    • Create deep and meaningful collaboration with marketing, capital markets, operations, and business development stakeholders to meet goals for the path of the member journey
    • Monitor and understand the key metrics governing the member journey product area, with an eye toward continuous improvement through ongoing product innovation
    • Work with internal subject matter experts and use a broad range of sources to understand borrower and processor use cases
    • Work with engineering and data science to analyze data and conduct experiments (i.e., A/B tests) in order to optimize the product in pursuit of an improved customer experience and business metrics
    • Design processes, workflows, and functional components to improve efficiency
    • Establish product delivery timelines in close collaboration with the engineering team
    • Keep on top of competitive landscapes and strategies
    • Engage with external counsel on complex transactions or legal issues

You are:

    • Passionate about automation and reducing complexity
    • Excited about being part of a purpose-driven organization that's helping to reduce the financial burden of healthcare professionals

You have:

    • A bachelor’s degree or higher in a technical discipline, or equivalent experience
    • A track record of customer obsession and innovation
    • 5+ years of experience leading high-performance product teams
    • Demonstrated experience defining and shipping commercially successful consumer-facing products on mobile and web
    • Superior communication skills, written and verbal
    • Experience presenting to C-level leadership
    • Experience in end-to-end ownership of a product
    • Experience managing complex product development cycles and highly technical solutions
    • Demonstrated ability to understand and discuss technical concepts, manage tradeoffs, and evaluate opportunistic new ideas with internal and external partners
    • The ability to think strategically and execute methodically
    • A proven track record of taking ownership and successfully delivering results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
    • The ability to work with remote teams

Preferred qualifications:

    • MBA with BS or higher in computer science
    • 7+ years of product management
