The YouVersion Solution Architect is responsible for designing the solution architecture of YouVersion’s technology to ensure innovative applications and features. This role will collaborate with engineers, product managers, the functional team, and engineering leadership. The Solution Architect utilizes their skills to deliver technical outcomes that align with the direction of their team to further Life.Church’s mission and to reach people for Christ.

What You'll Do

    • Analyze business and technical requirements to determine software solutions and systems architecture.
    • Serve as a solution and technical expert by creating high-level architectural specifications and addressing problems of systems integration and compatibility.
    • Evaluate and select solution features, applications, 3rd party integrations software.
    • Create detailed software design specifications, solution data and domain models, diagrams, flowcharts, and documentation to describe the software architecture and systems.
    • Coach and mentor engineers and developers to help build expertise in software architecture.
    • Collaborate with engineers, product managers, functional teams, and engineering leadership.

Skills Needed to Succeed

    • Strong technical expertise, including the ability to manage multiple threads of complex product and engineering activity.
    • Excellent leadership, team building, and management skills, including a track record of coaching and mentorship.
    • Strong communication skills with the ability to present a technology vision confidently in a way that motivates others.
    • Strong strategic thinking skills.
    • Strong leadership skills and understanding of developing and guiding others.
    • Provide pastoral direction and spiritual leadership to staff within the functional team.
    • Bachelor’s Degree + Advanced Certification.
    • 8+ years of related work experience.
