The VP of Product is primarily responsible for overseeing and casting vision for the YouVersion Bible App Product team. This role will oversee the team to continually optimize efforts and will partner with Product Owners to set and communicate the long-term YouVersion Product team vision. The VP of Product is also responsible for casting vision, providing direction, and leading ministry efforts within their team to outcomes that further Life.Church’s mission and reach people for Christ.

What You'll Do

    • Meet with direct reports regularly to provide support through coaching and setting expectations.
    • Lead the Product Management team to develop product requirements, prioritize product roadmaps, define outcomes, and coordinate product releases.
    • Partner with the Design team with vision, feedback, and direction through the design process.
    • Partner with the Engineering team to deliver workable solutions, develop new tools, and cast vision for the future.
    • Oversee team to ensure continuous review and optimization efforts.
    • Create development plans for team and assist them in achieving desired goals.
    • Provide direct support in setting and maintaining the department budget.
    • Foster a culture of excellence, innovation, and empathy within the Product team.
    • Drive innovation through the exploration of new technologies and methodologies that can enhance the user experience.
    • Collaborate with Product Owners and Product Managers to set long-term vision for the Bible App.
    • Communicate vision and strategy for accomplishing objectives for the Bible App.
    • Manage the overall product development process from market research efforts and user feedback data to design implementation.
    • Ensure that Product, Design, and Engineering teams’ initiatives are in alignment with the overall strategic vision of YouVersion and the organization.
    • Collaborate with Engineering, Design, Content, and Marketing teams to develop and launch new features and products.
    • Cast product vision and strategy, ensuring alignment with the organization’s mission and goals.
    • Analyze performance metrics to inform product decisions and measure success.

Skills Needed to Succeed

    • Ability to self-motivate, keep up with market trends and research, and solve problems with innovation.
    • Effective at multi-tasking and time management to meet strict deadlines while remaining flexible and open to change.
    • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills to clearly explain complicated processes and foster partnerships.
    • Effective at process and organizational management to coordinate, structure, and provide vision to projects.
    • Strong leadership skills and understanding of developing and guiding others.
    • Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making skills.
    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
    • 10+ years of experience in a product leadership role.
