The Life.Church Copywriter is primarily responsible for developing content to help people take their next steps at Life.Church by identifying audience needs and tailoring the message effectively across multiple channels. Additionally, this role will help steward the voice of Life.Church by aligning standards, tone, and key outcomes.

The Life.Church Communications Group develops strategies for how our ministry meets people where they are and empowers them to become fully devoted followers of Christ. Through Social Media, Marketing, Public Relations, and Communications Teams, we introduce people to Life.Church, connect them to our mission, and help them take the next steps in their spiritual growth.

This role supports communication strategies and accomplishes initiatives to reach people for Christ and further Life.Church’s mission. 

What You’ll Do

    • Create content to help reach and engage our audiences to take their next step toward Christ.
    • Establish the core message related to each target audience to help them feel known and valued by our church.
    • Equip staff with key messaging, content, and guidance related to weekend series, ministries, and events.
    • Collaborate with the Marketing & Communications Team to develop effective strategies and copy for digital and email marketing efforts.
    • Collaborate with central and campus teams on communication projects.
    • Proof, review, and modify copy under the direction of Marketing & Communications leaders.
    • Lead, advise, and support development for a team of writing volunteers.
    • Review, edit, and provide approval for copy/content developed submitted to the Marketing & Communications Team for approval.
    • Stay updated on current trends in marketing and communication.
    • Maintain awareness of current cultural and global events to best connect with our audiences.
    • Evaluate how the church can learn from the strategies of other organizations to advance church engagement.

Skills Needed to Succeed

    • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills to maintain relationships and partnerships.
    • Effective at multi-tasking and time management to meet strict deadlines while remaining flexible and open to change.
    • Excellent writing, editing, and proofing skills.
    • Ability to self-motivate, make independent decisions, and solve problems.
    • Ability to manage conflict and differing opinions while maintaining composure.
    • Strong leadership skills and understanding of developing and guiding others.
    • Ability to collaborate in a team environment and work independently.
    • High School Diploma or GED.
    • Bachelor’s degree, preferred.
    • 1-3 years of work-related experience.
