We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Engineering Director to lead our Supply Engineering organization. This role oversees all the technologies developed for Lime’s world-class supply operations, including mobile applications, out-of-warehouse and in-warehouse task systems, asset management, and critical internal operational tools.

As the Engineering Director, you will be responsible for setting the technical direction and strategy for the area, and for ensuring the team delivers high-quality products on-time with limited resources. You will also be responsible for fostering a collaborative and innovative team culture, and for developing and mentoring team members to support their growth and development.

The ideal candidate will have a track record of success leading and managing multiple managers and teams of engineers, and will be comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. They are eager to dig in and identify critical opportunities and solve overlooked or taken-for-granted problems. They are skilled in making critical decisions under constraints. They will also have strong cross-functional collaboration skills with product managers, data scientists, designers and operation teams to deliver high-quality products that exceed customer expectations.

What you'll do:

    • Define the long-term technical roadmap and strategic vision, alongside key stakeholders such as product, design, data science and operation teams.
    • Lead and manage multiple teams of talented engineers to deliver on key business objectives.
    • Develop and implement engineering best practices and processes to drive quality, scalability, and innovation.
    • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members to support their growth and development.
    • Continuously evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools to improve product development and delivery.
    • Oversee the design, development, testing, and deployment of high-quality customer-facing products.

About you:

    • 4+ years of experience as an individual contributor; 4+ years leading teams as an engineering manager, and at least 2+ years as a manager of managers.
    • Relevant technical experience in at least one of the following areas: consumer-facing mobile application, product backend business logic, machine learning systems.
    • Owner’s mindset with strong execution. Have the passion and drive to apply engineering principles to solve complex, vague and sometimes urgent business problems
    • Experienced in working within high performing teams that consistently deliver business value and operationally excellent systems
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and deliver high-quality results under tight deadlines Excellent communication and effective prioritization skills in working with competing priorities.
The anticipated salary range for this position is $220,000 - $300,000. Equity and benefits may be provided as part of the compensation package, depending on the position offered. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. Exact salary will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate's skills, experience and other qualifications as well as the candidate's location of residence. In addition to base salary, some roles may be eligible for a variable bonus based on a combination of company performance, employee performance, and management discretion.

The max of the band is San Francisco and New York City residence.
