Join Lime’s government and grant funding initiative, which aims to help our cities and community partners access public and private resources for planning, infrastructure, and technology that accelerates the adoption of shared, affordable, safe, and carbon free transportation. Reporting to the Grants Director, the Grant Writer/Project Manager is responsible for writing compelling, persuasive, and effective proposals for public/non-profit/private grants. You will also be responsible for project managing the full lifecycle of competitive grants, from proposal development and submission to post-award reporting and compliance. You will work effectively and efficiently across departments, including government relations, product, operations, and other business units as needed. 

The ideal candidate will have experience successfully writing and project managing high-quality, error-free applications for  public/grant funding. You will have demonstrated experience building cross-functional transparent alignment with multiple teams, as well as excellent communication and presentation skills. We are looking for a process-based thinker, who is conscientious and highly organized with excellent problem-solving skills. The ability to adapt to different communication styles are required as well as an ability to work calmly and efficiently in a high-pressure environment to produce quality, error-free work.

What you'll do

    • Write compelling, persuasive, and effective proposals for public/non-profit/private grants. 
    • Project manage the full lifecycle of competitive grants, from proposal development and submission to post-award reporting and compliance. 
    • Prepare draft budgets and compliance documents for review and approval by designated personnel. 
    • Manage grants calendar to ensure compliance with grant cycle deadlines 
    • Work effectively and efficiently with internal and external subject matter experts to secure material for applications and reporting.

About you:

    • 5+ years experience with writing and project managing grant proposals (US Federal grants preferred) 
    • Excellent project/grant management skills: ability to set goals, determine action steps and timelines, track compliance, document activities, and communicate effectively.
    • Superb writing and editing skills, with strong attention to detail and error free work.
    • Enthusiasm for creating and implementing SOPs and systems to scale work.
    • Ability to prioritize effectively and work simultaneously on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
    • Proficiency in grant budget preparation and management.

    • Preferred requirements:
    • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Urban Planning, Transportation Planning or Policy, or a related field (or equivalent experience) 
    • Proficiency in grant management software such as Salesforce or similar systems
    • Experience using a project management tool such as Airtable, Monday.com, Trello or similar systems
$89,000 - $131,000 a year
Equity and benefits may be provided as part of the compensation package, depending on the position offered. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. Exact salary will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the candidate’s location of residence, the successful candidate's skills, experience and other qualifications. In addition to base salary, some roles may be eligible for a variable bonus based on a combination of company performance, employee performance, and management discretion.
