We are searching for a Senior Cost Accountant to join our team!  This position will report directly to the CFO and will be based in Fort Worth, TX. 

What You'll Do:

    • Classify costs accurately while collecting and organizing cost information into a database of expenses
    • Create and maintain Unit Economics analysis by product classification
    • Assess DM and DL costs
    • Assess fixed and variable costs, such as rent, insurance, and monthly purchases
    • Prepare allocation journal entries
    • Conduct inventory reserve analysis on a monthly basis and reconcile ongoing inventory
    • Establish average costs for materials and labor, and update them as appropriate
    • Analyze costs of raw materials and other supplies and create cost-benefit analyses for selecting vendors
    • Generate Purchase Price Variance (PPV) reports and analyze findings
    • Perform Month End inventory reviews
    • Reconcile manufacturing logs for receiving, inspection, material movements, scrap and shipments
    • Establish and maintain estimation processes for reserves (shortages, scrap, rework, warranty, as examples)
    • Plan and manage annual physical inventory
    • Support the accounting/finance team in the preparation of annual financial statements, including document preparation, data analysis, integrity validation and reconciliation process
    • Responsible for integrity of cost accounting records in company ERP and accounting system
    • Assist in developing and maintaining the company’s accounting policies and procedures as we expand

What You'll Bring:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or equivalent
    • 3-5 years accounting experience; experience in a manufacturing environment required
    • Strong understanding of GAAP and cost accounting
    • Experience with accounting systems and inventory management software
    • Experience with NetSuite a plus
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and take ownership of work product
    • Must possess a strong work ethic, an ability to work independently, and an easy-going personality at ease in a startup environment
    • Excel in multi-tasking and participating in and coordinating new projects as they arise
    • Impeccable communication skills
    • Strong written, oral communication, analytical and interpersonal skills
    • Exceptional Excel and Word skills, SQL helpful but not required
    • Prior experience as a Financial Analyst, Accounting Manager, Assistant Controller or Controller in a manufacturing environment is helpful for this demanding role
    • Legally eligible to work in the United States
