We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist to join our team and lead the development of data-driven solutions to complex business problems in payments. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in statistical modeling, machine learning, and data analysis, as well as deep experience working with business stakeholders. Prior experience in payments and a deep sense of business is highly preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement advanced statistical and machine learning models to solve complex business problems
- Design experiments, analyze data, and communicate insights to cross-functional teams
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define business objectives, identify data sources, and develop metrics to measure success
- Translate product requirements into clear modeling objectives, business outcomes, and deliverables
- Lead and mentor junior data scientists and provide technical guidance on projects
Requirements:
- Master's or PhD degree in statistics, computer science, mathematics, or a related field
- MBA or prior business experience is a strong plus
- 3+ years of experience in data analysis, statistical modeling, and machine learning applied to payments or closely related industry
- Deep understanding of business and ability to prioritize projects to drive favorable outcomes
- Expertise in python language for data analysis and machine learning
- Proven track record of problem solving
- Strong understanding of data engineering concepts and experience working with databases, data warehouses, and big data technologies
- Experience with machine learning platforms such as SageMaker
- Strong communication skills and ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Experience working in cross-functional teams and leading projects from ideation to delivery
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment and autonomously manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Prior startup experience is strongly desired
