Little Sprouts, LLC is part of a global network of early care and education providers, organized under our France-based parent company, Babilou Family, dedicated to building and sustaining optimal learning and working environments. In the United States, we operate 39 individual school locations under three brand names: Little Sprouts (MA & NH), Building Blocks (CT), and Heartworks (VT) Early Education & Child Care Centers. The Head of Education is our most senior education position. As we sustain 39 current New England locations, with the expectation to grow rapidly throughout the next five years, the Head of Education will proactively and thoughtfully assume responsibility for the strategic oversight of ensuring best-in-class, age-appropriate education delivery across the US network with the capability to scale these measures as we expand beyond our current footprint. 
 
The Head of Education is responsible for developing and directing Little Spouts' pedagogical approach and implementing this pedagogy as an early education and care curriculum through nature-based, social-emotional, anti-bias practices and age-appropriate lesson plans aligned with the objectives of our colleagues at Babilou Family. 
 
As a versatile player-coach, the Head of Education will be the essential driver in delivering high-quality, high value education and cognitive development in the classroom. Leading and partnering with our teachers and school leadership, participating in the training, onboarding, and educational journey for our school-based staff. In collaboration with the COO, the Babilou Family Senior VP of Education, Quality and Sustainability, and the Director of Human Resources, the Head of Education will help ensure safe, equitable, and engaging classrooms by developing and implementing children’s curriculum and contributing to teacher professional development.

    • Compliance with all applicable early education legal and regulatory requirements 
    • Strengthen and Expand Our Stellar Reputation. Ensure that our in-school services reflect our leadership in nature-based learning, social-emotional learning, anti-bias early education, STEAM/STEM, and child-led/play-based curriculum. When called upon, to introduce our curriculum to new acquisitions or new de novo schools. 
    •  Data Proficiency and Work with a Facts-Based Approach. Identify, gather, and report upon Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)to make decisions and recommendations grounded in facts and scientifically valid research. 
    • Be a Change Agent (and inspire others to be the same). Partner with Facilities and Operational Departments, the COO and other members of the executive team, both locally local and across the Babilou global network, to further evolve, develop, and publicize our schools’ innovative approaches and capabilities. 

What You’ll Do:

    • Serve as Curriculum Champion and move comfortably between strategic leadership and detailed execution. 
    • Maintain and establish best-in-class Education practices that exceed state regulations and optimize the employee, family, and child experiences.  
    • Collaborate with international peers to maximize the implementation and value of our commitment to the neuroscientific underpinnings of child brain, cognitive and social/emotional development. 
    • Build and implement child development tracker programs that clearly and concretely convey children’s progress in responsible and reliable ways. 
    • Maintain proper teacher professional development paths working with Operations and HR to inspire positive career development and growth.  
    • Develop and administer the Department’s budgeting to meet annual goals and Key Performance Indicators 
    • Serve as teacher-administrative liaison to help foster professional and respectful work and better ensure teacher needs and experiences are conveyed throughout the company and network. 
    • Collaborate with experienced colleagues across our network who specialize in Operations, Human resources, Facilities management, Real Estate, and Finance  for the cohesive and  
    • Hands-on involvement with school-level technology, including but not limited to mastering teacher-to-family digital communication tools, teacher onboarding, as well as staff and child enrollment patterns 
    • Foster compassionate company culture across all locations

Who You Are:

    • Champion of Education - Bachelor’s degree required; MEd degree preferred 
    • Experienced Manager – 5-8 years of successful experience with multi-site locations and cross-functional teams. 
    • Traveler –50 - 75% of your time will include travel to schools; up to 10% international travel  
    • Builder - track record of successfully scaling companies, programs, and projects 
    • Self-starter - motivated, highly organized, and flexible 
    • Leader – an active listener who values compassion, communication, and clarity  
    • Connector – exceptional writer, communicator, presenter, and networker 
    • Digital Navigator - proficient in O365 (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Teams), social media platforms, and willing to master internal enrollment, employment, and financial software 

How It Gets Done:

    • Work full-time, 40-hour a week schedule, sometimes off-hours as the business requires (i.e., networking events, conferences, business dinners, etc.). 
    • Sustain long periods at a computer in a primarily sedentary position; manual dexterity is required to operate necessary digital equipment 
    • Travel; school visits, events, meetings, and mentor sessions will account for at least 50% of your time; international travel may account for up to 10% of your time.  
    • Physical endurance means standing on feet for up to 60% of the day and may include lifting up to 30 pounds, sitting on the floor and crouching down, and performing classroom activities with children, including running, jumping, etc. 
$95,000 - $110,000 a year
10% bonus
Salary commensurate with experience.
