Position Overview & Purpose
LiveOak Fiber is looking for a technical individual to join our Niceville office as a Platform Support Technician providing technical support and leadership for LiveOak Fiber technical staff and Tier 3 technical support for LiveOak Fiber customers with technical issues. In addition, they will assist in network and software platform management and support, including provisioning, troubleshooting, and systems engineering. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Work alongside network engineering and systems engineering to resolve issues and enhance our network's performance.
    • Monitor network uptime and performance.
    • Maintain server performance and uptime.
    • Support and optimize various software programs utilized by LiveOak Fiber.
    • Work escalated tickets that need engineering support and coordinate resolution between Tier 1 and 2, field services, service delivery, and engineering.
    • Coordinate with third party software and hardware vendors to resolve issues and optimize performance.
    • Make necessary configuration changes to network infrastructure to troubleshoot as needed.
    • Troubleshoot provisioning and other service delivery issues.
    • Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

    • Advanced knowledge of network technologies, connectivity, protocols, and security.
    • Superb analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Great interpersonal, communication, and collaboration abilities.
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES

    • 1-2 years of experience working with an internet service provider in a technical role (Tier 2 support, NOC, systems administrator, etc.) or similar
    • On-call availability outside of business hours to resolve urgent network issues.
    • Must be able to provide proof of eligibility to work in the U.S. 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES

    • Individual pursuing or attained bachelor's degree in computer science, information science, network engineering.
    • Certifications in areas such as Cisco, Juniper, Linux, CompTIA, or Microsoft network professional
    • Experience with network routers and switches a plus
    • Experience supporting software platforms 
    • Experience with GPON infrastructure and vendors (Calix, Nokia, etc.)
