Our client, a fast-growing travel and tourism startup, is hiring a Travel Planning Specialist for Custom & Group Tours to work with our clients to create unique, tailor-made itineraries and custom quotes. We are looking for candidates who are passionate about travel, like to problem-solve, and genuinely enjoy researching and finding solutions for clients.
Our client connects people with the best tours and activities around the world, while providing industry-leading service and support. As a member of our Custom and Groups team, you will be responsible for designing, quoting, selling, and executing excursions for our travel advisors all around the world.
Responsibilites
- Communicating through emails and phones using our internal ticket system.
- Impressing clients with your promptness, professionalism, and friendly interactions.
- Interacting with tour operators from all over the world on a daily basis (in English).
- Create custom and group proposals in accordance with group leader specifications.
- Handling conversations ranging from basic questions about tours and destinations, to troubleshooting client issues in real-time.
- Proactively bringing ideas forward for improving the overall customer experience for our clients.
- Request, build and maintain tour content and logistics for Group Shore Excursions
- Coordinate group tour capacities and operational details (i.e., name, duration, availability, ship calendared) with tour operators
- Contact operators, update database and advise all parties of changes due to itinerary revisions.
- Assist travel advisors and group leaders with questions or concerns
- Monitor tour penalty schedules, tour operator agreement tracking and cost confirmations.
- Monitor guest reviews on the all-group tours and provide feedback to vendors and Travel Partners
The Ideal Candidate
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, power point.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize and problem solve in a fast past environment.
- Ability to manage changing priorities and meet deadlines
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Strong analytical capabilities with a high level of attention to detail
- Works well independently and as part of a team
- Is fluent in written and spoken English (Other languages desirable)
$42,000 - $47,000 a year
