Loblaw Agency is looking for a Senior Copywriter, focusing on Health & Wellness, to join our team. The Senior Copywriter will work in partnership with the Manager, Art Direction and play an integral role in bringing campaigns to life through engaging, insights-driven ideas, messaging and content. With a solid understanding of what makes each channel unique, you’ll develop relevant and compelling messaging across all customer touchpoints with a focus on brand recall and delivering strong results.

Key Responsibilities

    • The Senior Copywriter will partner with the Manager, Art Direction, Associate Creative Director and Senior Creative Director to deliver exceptional creative ideas for a diverse range of health and wellness campaigns and initiatives, across all types of media
    • Demonstrate strong strategic acumen to ensure concepts are insight-driven and on brief
    • Attend briefings and kick-off meetings and offer insight and expertise on best practices for messaging
    • Develop concepts and copy across consumer-facing channels including In-store signage, out of home, print, digital, social, broadcast (scripts for radio, TV, OLV video) etc.
    • Ensure a seamless customer message across all consumer touchpoints that reflects the brand
    • Lead presentations of creative concepts and messaging to various marketing teams and Senior Management
    • Ensure all projects meet brand standards and are completed on schedule
    • Review talent castings and direct radio records/shoots as required to ensure the quality of the creative vision
    • Develop relationships with external partners and vendors and provide direction/edits and approvals on outsourced copy as required
    • Keep abreast of competitor advertising as well as customer behaviour and trends related to Health & Wellness
    • Use organizational skills to maintain processes that provide structure to workflow of copy within the creative department

What You'll Need

    • Minimum 5+ years of experience with a focus in Pharmacy, Health & Wellness, Retail and/or Loyalty, working in regulated industries would be an asset
    • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in new media arts, creative advertising or equivalent
    • Extreme attention to detail and strong organizational skills
    • Demonstrated proficiency of writing across all channels
    • Ability to break down complex ideas and messaging and develop customer-friendly language
    • A strong understanding of industry best practices and expertise in social content creation and digital marketing
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to present and justify creative ideas and concepts against the creative brief
    • Knowledge of the marketplace and industries we operate in, creative strategy, and the competitive landscape
    • A passion for big idea thinking and consumer centric storytelling and writing content that stands out in today’s world
    • Conceptual thinking and confidence presenting big ideas at meetings and brainstorming sessions
    • Ability to collaborate with a fast-moving team, in a stimulating and ever-evolving environment
Primary location will be our office at 243 Consumers Rd. Toronto ON. Loblaw has a flexible work arrangement, with a combination of remote and in-office work.
