Role

Our Director, Technical Program Management position is a people-leader role that influences how we operate at Loblaw Digital; responsible for not only ensuring that portfolio teams deliver on-plan, but also ensuring collaboration and enablement amongst our cross-functional teams. Our network of team members is deployed across multiple domains, businesses, and shared capabilities…we operate as a unit with a vision focused on: bridging functions by making connections, inspiring transparency, communicating facts clearly, and enabling solution-forward ideas collaboratively.

As a Director, Technical Program Management you will manage a portfolio that spans multiple domains. Candidates should have extensive experience managing and launching large-scale eCommerce/technology projects and be comfortable communicating both technical and non-technical concepts. The intent of this role is to bring functional thought leadership with a focus on ensuring consistency in delivery excellence across business and technical initiatives, while managing a portfolio of domains. This role will operate primarily as a leader of leaders role, and as a strategic partner to our engineering and product organizations encompassing strong end-to-end plan management, communication management, and collaboration to drive through executional results.

What You'll Do

    • Guide a team of people leaders and technical program management professionals integrated across your extended team to drive end-to-end plan and communication management across multiple domains
    • Drive, articulate, and own the vision for technical program management excellence across the portfolio ensuring high standards and output
    • Lead initiative management and technical delivery across a sub-practice through cross-functional partnership
    • Partner with senior cross-functional experts across product, engineering, and business teams to solve challenges, drive transformation, and achieve outcome based goals and objectives
    • Showcase expert-level skills in stakeholder management and facilitation through clear, succinct, and streamlined communication
    • Foster culture within your portfolio, the functional practice, and throughout the broader organization ensuring both long term development of the domain, as well as the practice

Does This Sound Like You?

    • 10+ years of experience building, scaling, and transforming program/project management teams, initiatives and processes
    • Led multiple teams and managed major initiatives, strategic portfolios, as well as teams of teams
    • Proven people leader – building, managing, and leading – enabling direct reports to progress in their careers, as well as the teams in which they manage – you thrive on coaching and mentoring for continuous growth and development
    • Natural strategic thinker and problem solver – you have strong influence and persuasion skills at all levels of the organization
    • Experience defining and articulating vision for technical program management and delivery excellence across a portfolio
    • Superior inter-personal and communication skills inclusive of ability to drive, lead, and partner in cross-functional environments and communicate with both peers and senior stakeholders through forward, proactive, and strategic thinking; ability to thrive in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment
    • Exceptional portfolio management skills with demonstrated ability to drive accountability through clear action and ownership bridging both strategic and tactical decisions and needs
    • Strong technical ability with experience managing technical initiatives/programs inclusive of communicating and managing technical constructs with varying stakeholders at senior levels of the organization
