We are seeking an experienced Water Resources Engineer to join our team in the greater St. Louis area. This position can be based out of St. Louis, St. Charles, Edwardsville, or Belleville. The ideal candidate for this role will be a Professional Engineer with experience working on wastewater, drinking water and/or stormwater projects. This position will be a part of a dynamic Water Resources team that helps municipalities and utilities provide clean water to their customers and our communities. Lochmueller Group works with our clients to plan, design, build, maintain and operate water infrastructure with a focus on sustainability and improved water quality.

Our Water Resources team is involved in a wide variety of water resources projects for states, municipalities, utilities, regional sewer districts and various private entities. In addition, our Water Resources team may support, and coordinate with, our other business units to assist with various roadway, industrial, and site development projects.

In this position, the candidate will:

    • Preparing project documents related to wastewater, drinking water, and/or stormwater projects.
    • Designing, conducting analyses, and interpreting data.
    • Ensure project designs are in conformance with the latest design specifications.
    • Perform design quantity computations and checks.
    • Plans, schedules, or coordinates the preparation of documents or activities for projects.
    • Read and interpret schematic and construction plans.
    • Apply a variety of specification regulations, policies and standards to assure compliance with various Federal, State, and local rules and regulations.
    • Provide mentorship to junior level staff.
    • May perform other duties associated with this role.

Qualifications for this role:

    • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or other applicable engineering field
    • Professional Engineer (PE) preferred
    • 5+ years of experience in this discipline
    • Experience designing wastewater, drinking water, and/or stormwater projects 
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to work individually or as part of a team
