We are looking for an experienced Traffic Engineer to join our growing Traffic Engineering and Planning Department. This position could be based out of one of our regional offices in Illinois, Missouri, Indiana, or Kentucky.

Our Traffic Engineering & Planning Department is involved in a variety of projects, including traffic impact studies, safety and traffic calming studies, transportation modeling and simulation, signal timing optimization, traffic signal and Intelligent Transportation System design, transit planning, pedestrian/bicycle planning, and long-range transportation planning.

In this position, the candidate will:

    • Perform computations and data analyses
    • Create models of transportation and traffic flow
    • Perform quality control self-checks of assigned work
    • Diagnose transportation issues through field observations
    • Assist in the development of alternatives and solutions to identified problems
    • Prepare project reports, graphics, and figures
    • Perform other duties associated with this position

Qualifications for this role:

    • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or similar engineering field
    • Passed, or pursuing passage, of the FE/EIT exam; PE candidates are also encouraged to apply
    • 2+ years of relevant experience in traffic engineering
    • Experience or familiarity with AutoCAD, MicroStation, ArcGIS, Synchro, VISSIM, Highway Capacity Software, Adobe Creative Suite, and Tableau is helpful.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
