Our Traffic Engineering & Planning Department is involved in a variety of projects, including traffic impact studies, safety and traffic calming studies, transportation modeling and simulation, signal timing optimization, traffic signal and Intelligent Transportation System design, transit planning, pedestrian/bicycle planning, and long-range transportation planning.

In this position, the candidate will:
- Perform computations and data analyses
- Create models of transportation and traffic flow
- Perform quality control self-checks of assigned work
- Diagnose transportation issues through field observations
- Assist in the development of alternatives and solutions to identified problems
- Prepare project reports, graphics, and figures
- Perform other duties associated with this position
Qualifications for this role:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or similar engineering field
- Passed, or pursuing passage of the FE/EIT exam
- Previous internship experience related to traffic engineering
- Experience or familiarity with AutoCAD, Microstation, ArcGIS, Synchro, VISSIM, Highway Capacity Software, Adobe Creative Suite, and Tableau is helpful.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
