Lorentz Bio is a research company reimagining the scientific field and industry of cryopreservation. Candidates can look forward to joining the founding team and building a well-resourced research program, with access to infrastructure, engineering talent, and operational capacity not available in a conventional academic context.
As Lorentz Bio’s Scientist/Senior Scientist in Molecular Biology you will head our molecular biology team and contribute to the development of our research roadmap. In this position, you will head multiple projects focused on recombinant protein design and expression in e. coli and eukaryotic cell models.

Key Qualifications:

    • You’ve completed a PhD with 3+ years of postdoc/industry experience in Molecular Biology, Neuroscience, Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
    • A strong record of accomplishment in your field, including publications, presentations, and/or patents.
    • Extensive experience in recombinant protein engineering, expression and purification.
    • Extensive experience in cloning and standard molecular biology techniques.
    • Strong quantitative biology skills.
    • Proven track record in delivering complex and high profile programmes of research, including managing and mobilizing resources, and delivering to time and quality expectations within budget.
    • Strong people management skills, including developing and motivating direct reports, colleagues and consultants. Exceptional organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience with high-throughput chemical screening.
    • Experience with in silico drug design and/or molecular dynamic simulations.
    • Experience identifying and scoping opportunities for new products.
    • Experience with appropriate project management tools to focus teams, facilitate decision making, manage risk, and ensure all are tracked and communicated clearly within teams and to external stakeholders.
