We were first introduced to America on Shark Tank in December 2015 and we have been on a rocket ship ride ever since. We are hiring a Director of People Operations  to join our team. This person must be able to build and manage HR infrastructure for a dynamic employee base within an incredibly fast paced, start up environment. We are a complex, multi-channel, international organization with both salaried and hourly staff across our HQ and retail operations. We are looking for a driven self-starter with proven experience owning this function in a scaling organization. This role is a part of our Senior Leadership team and reports to Lovepop's Chief Operating Officer.

The Director of People Ops will be responsible for a variety of areas and must be process-driven while also flexible. This person will be charged with building scalable HR systems and implementing supporting infrastructure. They must design and manage compensation and total rewards programs that align with our mission and core values, along with creating HR policies to support the business and meet legal requirements. This Director will manage flawless execution of systems, compensation, benefits, leaves, compliance, and people reporting.

What you'll do here:

    • Oversee the build out of Lovepops benefit offerings and ensure all are compliant with ACA and other legal requirements
    • Review benefit options for both hourly and corporate employees including; Retirement/401K, wellness and engagement initiatives, and other rewards programs that are competitive, comprehensive, and well-utilized
    • Lead open enrollment and communication strategy for engagement and understanding across Lovepop
    • Create and maintain HR policy and Employee handbook that provides clarity in an on-brand voice; update as needed for new markets
    • Create programs and tools that will be rolled out to all retail district and location managers with established HR processes and best practices for their hourly staff
    • Partner with and guide leadership team with regards to HR best practices
    • Act as point of contact for all employee relations questions or situations (e.g. employee complaints, harassment allegations, sensitive issues, etc.) that may arise -- whether concerning employees at our corporate office or in our retail locations
    • Establish and manage employee leave process – including initial responses, completion of appropriate paperwork, and return to work
    • Lead new hire HR onboarding and termination processes that ensures a positive experience
    • Maintain employee files and record-keeping, auditing regularly for flawless execution

What you'll bring to the table:

    • 10-15 years of HR experience including expertise in retail specific multi-state HR compliance including wage rules, leave rules, break rules
    • Bachelor's degree required; MBA and/or Masters in Organizational Design or relevant field highly preferred
    • Ability to make trade offs that impact company strategy and initiatives
    • Ability to constructively work through complex organizational issues
    • Provides transparency upwards, sideways, and downwards on outcomes and pacing toward company goals and metrics
    • Prior experience running a high performing team, as defined by a team that achieves their goals and is highly engaged
    • Executive presence, and can speak to internal and external audiences professionally and confidently
    • Maintains full ownership for decisions in their domain
    • Competency as a negotiator and understanding of how to find win-wins out of any situation

You'll be great if you have:

    • Knowledge and expertise in developing teams and leaders 
    • Proven ability to inspire employees, actively listen and translate feedback into actionable solutions to people issues
    • High EQ, capable of building and maintaining effective relationships with employees at all levels of the organization
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
    • Problem solver with analytical ability; experience with process design or process improvement strongly preferred

Lovepop is headquartered in Boston, MA, however is embracing work remotely for the next few months until all employees can return to the office safely.
