LTA Research and Exploration, an aerospace start-up, is seeking a motivated Electrical Systems Manager to help build a revolutionary ‘lighter than air’ flight vehicle. You will work within a dynamic engineering and design team to help plan, conceptualize, rapidly prototype, test and implement innovative solutions for the design, fabrication, and assembly of large experimental flight vehicles. We believe in fast-cycle development and approach to flight systems development with the motto "build a little, test a little, learn a lot.”

This unique position allows for hands-on contributions through all phases of development, from concept to flight of an experimental aerospace vehicle. Our ideal candidate is a mission-driven, passionate engineer interested in developing infrastructure, testing tools, and systems.

Responsibilities

    • Project Management of Airship electrical hardware 
    • Including power, devices, mechanical interfaces, etc
    • Line management of employees
    • Project Management of Contractors
    • Scheduling of builds, testing, and airship integration
    • Presenting updates to senior management and creation of interface control documents
    • Hands-on management of electronic systems
    • Oversight of Design of electrical and electronic flight hardware
    • Oversight of Testing of electronic flight systems
    • Oversight of Design and validation of high voltage/high power systems
    • Manage Interactions with cross-functional teams

Qualifications

    • BS in electrical engineering, MS or PhD preferred
    • Minimum of 5 years post BS experience
    • Line management of teams of 10 or more
    • Aerospace experience
    • Experience with electrical design and simulation tools such as Matlab and Spice
    • Strong laboratory skills and hands-on characterization of electrical system performance
    • Vendor management
    • Harnessing and electromechanical component experience desirable
