Responsibilities

    • Designing and laying out aircraft components, systems, and ground support/assembly equipment, with a focus on soft goods flight hardware.
    • Assisting in the development of requirements and specifications for products, materials, components, and systems.
    • Managing assigned tasks and projects to ensure timely and on-budget completion.
    • Creating and maintaining CAD models (part and assembly) using Solidworks, SolidWorks PDM, Rhino3D, and AutoCAD.
    • Generating CAD drawings, including part, assembly, installation, and cutting pattern drawings.
    • Selecting appropriate materials for designs.
    • Conducting detailed analyses to optimize designs and verify their integrity.
    • Providing manufacturing support, including process development and fixture design/modification for fabrication, assembly, or system integration.
    • Preparing and presenting technical reports and documentation to various stakeholders.
    • Supporting the full project lifecycle, from conception to in-service operations.
    • Liaising with internal and external parties on technical aspects of assigned projects.
    • Participating in and leading project meetings.

Qualifications

    • Proven experience (2 to 5+ years) of relevant work experience
    • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suites.
    • Extensive experience of 3D CAD modelling (2+ years):
    • o      SolidWorks – essential.
      o      SolidWorks PDM – essential.
      o      Rhino3D experience – preferred.
      o      AutoCad experience – preferred.
    • Soft goods experience - preferred
    • Demonstrated ability to work within existing quality management processes and improve quality management of soft goods processes in a development environment.
    • Positive attitude
    • Works well with others
