Responsibilities
- Designing and laying out aircraft components, systems, and ground support/assembly equipment, with a focus on soft goods flight hardware.
- Assisting in the development of requirements and specifications for products, materials, components, and systems.
- Managing assigned tasks and projects to ensure timely and on-budget completion.
- Creating and maintaining CAD models (part and assembly) using Solidworks, SolidWorks PDM, Rhino3D, and AutoCAD.
- Generating CAD drawings, including part, assembly, installation, and cutting pattern drawings.
- Selecting appropriate materials for designs.
- Conducting detailed analyses to optimize designs and verify their integrity.
- Providing manufacturing support, including process development and fixture design/modification for fabrication, assembly, or system integration.
- Preparing and presenting technical reports and documentation to various stakeholders.
- Supporting the full project lifecycle, from conception to in-service operations.
- Liaising with internal and external parties on technical aspects of assigned projects.
- Participating in and leading project meetings.
Qualifications
- Proven experience (2 to 5+ years) of relevant work experience
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suites.
- Extensive experience of 3D CAD modelling (2+ years):
- Soft goods experience - preferred
- Demonstrated ability to work within existing quality management processes and improve quality management of soft goods processes in a development environment.
- Positive attitude
- Works well with others
- Able to lift 35 lbs
o SolidWorks – essential.
o SolidWorks PDM – essential.
o Rhino3D experience – preferred.
o AutoCad experience – preferred.
