We are an aerospace R&D company building experimental and certified airships. We are developing and manufacturing advanced technologies to dramatically increase the capabilities and lower the cost of 21st-century airships.
 
LTA’s airships will have the ability to complement and even accelerate humanitarian disaster response and relief efforts, especially in remote areas that cannot be easily accessed by plane and boat due to limited or destroyed infrastructure. We ultimately aim to create a family of aircraft with zero emissions that would substantially reduce the global carbon footprint of aviation when used for shipping goods and moving people.

We are seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to operate and maintain all equipment owned and rented by LTA.

Responsibilities:

    • Operate all pieces of heavy equipment owned or rented by LTA
    • Take direction from the Director of Facilities to reach specific production goals
    • Able to rig equipment, flight hardware and other items for lifting operations
    • Expected to be able to work overtime and on non-standard workdays to operate heavy equipment and meet deadlines
    • Maintain heavy equipment: make minor repairs, organize major repairs, coordinate preventative maintenance, create, and sustain maintenance and repair logs for all heavy equipment
    • Perform daily, weekly and monthly checks on all heavy equipment
    • Track daily equipment whereabouts and usage
    • Escort, unload, and deliver freight to shipping and receiving
    • Participate in builds and other hangar activities
    • Must be comfortable with heights and overhead work
    • Ensure a clean, organized, and professional workplace--practice 5S methodology
    • Enforce/follow company policies and report any violations to the manager
    • Ensure workplace safety above everything else

Qualifications:

    • Minimum five years’ heavy equipment operating experience. Multiple equipment types required with valid certifications.
    • Knowledge of hand signaling
    • Experienced leading teams to achieve company goals – foreman, supervisor, manager etc.
    • Safety-first mentality
    • Mechanic background / high level of mechanical aptitude preferred 
    • High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred
    • Valid CDL Class C required, Class A preferred
    • Crane operating experience is a plus

Physical & Compliance Requirements:

    • Capable of lifting and transporting up to 50 pounds
    • Capable of sitting or standing for long periods of time
    • Able to work in outdoor-type weather conditions year-round
    • Background check clearance
    • DOT/Drug Test clearance
    • Clean driving record/MVR clearance
    • Fully vaccinated against COVID
