We are an aerospace R&D company building experimental and certified airships. We are developing and manufacturing advanced technologies to dramatically increase the capabilities and lower the cost of 21st-century airships.
 
LTA’s airships will have the ability to complement and even accelerate humanitarian disaster response and relief efforts, especially in remote areas that cannot be easily accessed by plane and boat due to limited or destroyed infrastructure. We ultimately aim to create a family of aircraft with zero emissions that would substantially reduce the global carbon footprint of aviation when used for shipping goods and moving people.

We are seeking an IT Systems Administrator to assist in the setup, maintenance, and support of networks and users at our Akron facility.

Responsibilities

    • Perform IT administration functions, including configuring, installing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading hardware and operating systems
    • Identify problems and implement solutions to ensure all applications are accessible and functioning properly
    • Recommend changes to infrastructure and existing systems to improve performance, reliability and availability
    • Maintain integrity of the network, server deployment, and security for regulatory compliance
    • Build, maintain, and manage physical and virtual infrastructure (VMware/Hyper-V/AWS/AHV)
    • Proactively manages and troubleshoots storage environment, including capacity planning/availability, quotas, and snapshots to optimize performance
    • Manage backup/restore of critical systems/services and perform periodic audits
    • Plan and execute implementation for new applications, as needed
    • Research and evaluate network and server hardware and software options and upgrades including updates, patches, and service packs, as needed
    • Act as the first line of contact and support for any IT issues at the Akron site
    • React promptly to performance and service impacting events, resolving in a timely manner
    • Document all activities, whether in support of users or the network, and keep records of all issues and resolutions
    • Take direction from the Director of Operations as needed to assist in other areas

Qualifications:

    • 2-5 years of experience in IT services
    • 2-5 years of administration experience with Windows, Macintosh, and Linux systems and applications
    • Demonstrated network knowledge: WAN, LAN, VPN, VLAN, Route and Switch, Firewalls, ACLs, Spanning Tree
    • Demonstrated knowledge of WiFi (WLAN) deployments and support
    • Demonstrated knowledge of Desktop OS (OSX, Windows 10) and troubleshooting skills
    • Demonstrated ability in diagnosing and solving critical server-related problems and failures promptly and effectively
    • Demonstrated knowledge of blade or hyper converged infrastructure and networking components
    • Knowledge of in/out of band management
    • MCSE certification preferred
    • Cisco Certification preferred
    • Excellent communications, interpersonal and customer support skills

    • Lift and transport 50 lbs
    • Able to work on your feet or sitting down for a complete workday
    • Background check clearance
    • Must be fully vaccinated against COVID
